We have been awarded funding from Innovate UK for the project Leveraging Uncertainty in Content & Metadata to Enable Indelible Digital Rights (LUCID Rights). Innovate UK is the UK’s innovation agency. It works with people, companies and partner organisations to find and drive the science and technology innovations that will grow the UK economy. For further information visit www.innovateuk.gov.uk.
LUCID Rights is an 18-month project being conducted between The Media Institute, Braintree and the Copyright Hub Foundation.
The project makes investments in the universal uncovering of rights data feasible and economic; and with the project outputs, content owners and their supply chains can now have confidence that copyright research findings and licenses can be structured for discovery and automation at commercial scale. Further, these can be made indelible through the extraction and recording of compact digital signatures (now being standardized as ISO/IEC 15938-15: Compact Descriptors for Visual Search), certifying the unique identity of media.
